Eggplant Uses VNC to Connect to Any System
VNC is open source software for controlling remote computers, with free versions available for virtually every operating system.
- VNC allows Eggplant to send keyboard and mouse events to a remote system.
- VNC sends the display image from the remote system back to Eggplant.
- VNC was written to be lightweight and have as little impact as possible on the remote machine.
- Eggplant customers use VNC on many different platforms including: Windows, Mac OS X, Mac OS 9, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris and Linux.
- Hardware KVM devices supporting VNC are available for BIOS testing, alternate OS control, or for 100% non-intrusive testing.
- For greater security Eggplant supports encrypted SSH communications to the test system.
